These types of solar energy plants are very much needed and they deserve every encouragement from the public and the respective Governments as well.
The Gunthwada Solar Power Project of the State Government developed under phase I of Gujarat Solar power policy 2009 by, awarding the project to MBCEL. The grid -connected 30 MW solar farm is built on 305 acres of land using 2,36,000 thin film modules in this Power Plant project.

Modules also sourced from globally acclaimed Moser Baer Solar Ltd (MBSL), This is the only Solar Company in the world to be awarded 5 star rating for quality by TUV Rheinland two years in a row. This project will generate 52 million KWH energy per year which will be evacuated to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam limited (GUVNL). This saves about 50,000 tonnes of carbon emission annually and has been commissioned in a record time period.

The efforts of the Government of Gujarat and MBCEL are commendable for their contribution to the people of the state in providing alternate form of energy.

This single initiative has brought in a revolutionary change in the life-pattern and economic activities of rural Gujarat. This initiative will not only promote well being development of small scale industries and generation of additional employment, but will also reduce the migration of village population to urban areas.
