But most of the user of LPG cylinder not even know that the what is printed on the cylinder in digits and in alphabets code. This article is about how to see the expiry date of the LPG gas cylinder. How you can check the expiry date of LPG cylinders used in kitchen


To check the expiry date on the cylinder you have to check the code which is printed on the side of the cylinder. The date is alpha numeric. It is as following manner. There is two digit number following this e.g. D06.
  • March is indicated as A (First)

  • June is indicated as B(Second)

  • Sept is indicated as C(Third)

  • December is indicated as D(Fourth)

  • The digits are stand for the validate year for that cylinder. Hence D06 means that it is validated since December of 2006. Please Return Back the cylinder you get with a Expiry Date. Some of the examples of the expiry date of the cylinder is given below.

  • Only authorized personnel should be permitted to enter into the LPG yard

  • Always ensure proper earthing connections to the mobile LPG tanker before unloading operation

  • Do not engage damaged / leaky hoses for unloading the tanker

  • Do not carry out unloading operation during night time , Heavy rains, Thunder storms, Lighting etc

  • Always tighten all fasteners of the LPG unloading hoses fully to the mobile tanker, replace gasket whenever unloading of LPG tanker takes place

  • Do not overfill the LPG storage tank beyond the maximum filling limit of 85%

  • Ensure hoses are depressurized prior to disconnecting from the tanker.
