Karimnagar Telugudesam TDP MLA Gangula Kamalakar has joined in TRS Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party

A major setback to the opposition TDP party in Andhrapradesh state has happened while the sitting MLA of Karimnagar Assembly constituency, Gangula Kamalakar has decided to join in TRS party. Gangula Kamalakar will be the first TDP MLA from Karimnagar district to be joining the TRS party and sources revealed that more MLAs from Telangana region are expected to quit the TDP and even the ruling Congress partyin coming days

In a latest development in the Andhrapradesh politics a sitting MLA, Gangula Kamalakar of opposition TDP party representing the Karimnagar Assembly constituency has decided to join the TRS party during a meet with K.Chandrashekar Rao, the President of TRS party. Even though the TeluguDesam party and its President Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced his party's willingness to the formation of separate Telangana state, leaders from Telangana region haven't showing any kind of faith on these words and leaving the party. After the meeting with KCR in a farm house, Gangula has confirmed the news of joining in TRS party for the reason of leaders and MLAs lacking permission to raise their voices for separate Telangana state in TDP party.

Reasons for Gangula Kamalakar quitting TDP and joining in TRS party

Gangula Kamalakar is a sitting MLA from Karimnagar Assembly constituency and has won the election in 2009 by contesting from TeluguDesam party. The tagline of BC leader has worked in that election, since then the scenario has changed completely as the separate Telangana statehood issue has occupied the top spot among public. Leaders from both ruling Congress party and TRS have succeeded in blaming the TeluguDesam party as the reason for the withdrawal of the announcement of road-map for the formation of separate Telangana state. Starting from the 2009, till now the TDP party has failed to earn votes and deposits in various by-elections that are taken-place in Telangana region.

Gangula Kamalakar who is willing to contest in the next Assembly elections (May be in 2014) from the same Karimnagar Assembly constituency have thought that being in TDP party may worsen the situation more hence he decided to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) party the only having the patent of working for the formation of separate Telangana state and having won the trust of voters and public.

It is indeed a shock for the opposition TDP Party and in coming days we may witness more migrations of leaders and MLAs in joining the TRS party from both TDP and Congress parties. Rumors have spread that Gangula Kamalakar has taken the oath from TRS supremo K.Chandrashekar Rao as the confirmed candidate from TRS party from Karimnagar Assembly in the 2014 elections (in case of no midterm elections). This maybe some what sad news for N.Laxman Rao, ex MLC and senior most leader of TRS party who have scarified the MLC seat and got the assurance of MLA ticket from Karimnagar assembly in past from their party President KCR.
