Eklingji Temple of Udaipur is one of the important temples of Rajasthan. Situated in the town of Eklingji with other name Kailashpuri, the superb place got its importance mainly from the temple. Eklingji Temple is located at a distance of about 22 km towards the north of Udaipur. Placed on the national highway no. 8 this famous Eklingnath Temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva in Hindu religion. The temple was established in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal. From this ago, Eklingji has been the only ruling deity of Mewar rulers in time. After some years, it was reconstructed by many Kings, to blink the remnants of obliteration created due to the attacks of Mohammedans.

The Shivlinga which is known for Phallic form of Lord Shiva garlanded by a silver snake is one of the major attraction inside the Eklingji Temple.

On the centre of the temple ground Shivlinga is encircled by Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikay. Tourist can also able to find the statues of Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Yamuna inside the temple complex. The main temple consists of silver doors, which the statues of Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikay guarding their father(Lord Shiva). There are two tanks namely Karz Kund and Tulsi Kund present on the north of the temple and water from these tanks is used during the services of the Lord. The grand festival of Shivratri is celebrated here with full joy and fervor. Visitors can able to see the image of Lord Shiva, adorned with jewelry at this time.
