Snow Fall in SHIMLA/MANALI
A thick blanket of snow enveloped the so called queen of hills on Wednesday night and rainfall along with thunderstorms lashed the city in the next morning. By afternoon sunlight again cherished the fallen snow and the entire place can be imagined as if it's a new world composing of bright snowfall all around. While heavy snowfall in Manali and the local surroundings kept the tourists and the local people, there was heavy rush of people in Shimla too. This was the first snowfall received by the state for this New Year 2012. Chilling icy winds sweeping the places around has shivered the people here. People in Shimla and Manali area were left delight surprised to have snowfall in the morning hours. While this was about the city areas, remote areas of the state have been issued the warnings, i.e. to stay indoors. Lahaul valley of Lahaul-Spiti district has cripped the normal life of the people. There is a threat of avalanches and henceforth, people are warned about it by the local administration.
