Raja Ajbar Sen since 16th century
Raja Ajbar Sen is one of the greatest rulers of the Mandi district. He ruler for long time period and since his time period he had made so many temples in the district and all the temple of the Lords Shiva's. During his time period the peoples of the Mandi district worship the Lord Shiva's. One of the famous temples he made is Bhoth Nath temple which was built in the 16th century and in this temple there is an idol of the Lord Shiva's is placed and there is also a statue of Nandi who is the vehicle of the Lord Shiva's. This temple is the main attraction for the Shiv Ratri festival. The seven days long Shiv Ratri festival takes place in this temple.
Raja Suraj Sen since 17th century
After the Raja Ajbar Sen the Raja Suraj Sen ruled the Mandi district for a long time period. During his time period he had also so many temples in the district but all of the temples are of the Lord Vishnu. During his time period the peoples of the Mandi district worship the Lord Vishnu. He built one of the famous temples which is known as Madhav Rai temple. In this temple there is an idol of the Lord Vishnu is place. And also this temple is the main attraction for the Shiv Ratri festival. Shiv Ratri festival also takes place in this temple.
Ishwari Sen after the Suraj Sen
Ishwari Sen was the last ruler of the Mandi district. He was selected after the Raja Sural Sen in the 18th century. He had ruled for a long time period. He was defeated by the king of Punjab and gave the prisoner for the 12 years. But the Gurkha who is the invader of the Kangra district in 1972 released him and after reaching his home town he invite the Gurkha to the dinner after that there is Shiv Ratri is celebrated in the Mandi district. This is one of the important festivals of the Mandi district. And it is known as International Shiv Ratri festival.
