International Lavi Fair 2013


International Lavi Fair 2013 will begin from 11th November and continues till 14th November. The opening ceremony will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state. Here we are talking about the history of the fair and main attraction of the fair.

International Lavi Fair 2013 begin from 11th November in Rampur


International Lavi fair is one of the famous fair of the state, which was celebrated in the Rampur, Shimla district every year in the month of November and continues for several days. This is one of the oldest Trade Fair of the country which was firstly celebrated in the 16th century in the Rampur Bashar after that this fair was celebrated every year by the peoples of Rampur which tradition and culture.


History of the Fair
This fair was firstly started in the 16th century by the local king of the Rampur Bashar area with the king of the Tibet. During the first ceremony of the fair local king of the Bashar gave the horses and some dry fruits to the Tibet and in turn king of Tibet gave some weapons like swords etc.


But nowadays this festivals was celebrated in the different way, peoples of the both country participated in this fair. Local peoples of the Rampur sell their dry fruits and handmade woolen clothes and craft and paintings.


In the festival local artists performs cultural programs in the night which will continue for the several days and also singer from the other state will also participated in the night programs. Every year so many peoples across the country as well as outside the country came here to enjoy this festival.


International Lavi Fair 2013
This year Lavi fair opening ceremony will be held on 11th November in the next month in the Rampur. The chief guest of the opening ceremony will be the Chief Minister of the state Raja Virbhadra Singh and this festival will continues for the four days in which so many cultural programs will be performed by the local artists. There are so many shops and exhibitions programs will display by the local peoples of this area.


The closing ceremony will held on 14th November and the main chief guest of the ceremony will the state's governor Urmila Singh will address the peoples of area on this occasion.


Preparations and Facilities
District Magistrate and Head of fair committee said that HRTC will increases the buses for this place during the fair and also provide some locals buses so that peoples can enjoy the fair with no fear of transportation. He also said that primary preparation has been started by the committee and all the work has been done on time before the fair.
