Abbey water falls


The Kodagu is famous for numerous valleys among them Abbey is the leading one for its natural and picturesque beauty, this water fall is just 8 km away from Madikeri and the best place for picnics, but the frequency of public transport bit less but comfortable those who come here in their own vehicle. Iruppu water falls


This is another wonderful spot which 91 km away from Madikeri, this is a famous pilgrim centre also, according to history this place is associated with Rama of Ramayana. Central Orange and Coffee Research Station


This research stations is on the way of Madikeri-Siddapur-Virajpet, this stations is run by the state government, March and April are the ideal months to visit this place, the beauty of coffee, pepper, cardamom are grown here along with the cherry fruit, the pulping of cherry fruit is an beautiful process to look at.

Nagarhole National Park

Talacauvery

Kaveri Nisargadhama

Kushalnagar


This place bridges the two districts of Kodagu and Mysore, this place is considered as an commercial place in Kodagu, this place has an very ideal weather condition hence most of commercial establishments were found here compared to other taluks in Kodagu, major establishments are coffee curing process centres.

Kushalanagara is just 34 km away from Madikeri which is another visiting place in the district, which contains the rehabilitation center of Tibetan refugees.

Padi Igguthappa Temple

Talakaveri is just 48 km from Madikeri and 8 km away from Bhagamandala, this place is well connected by state owned and private buses from many places like Mysore, Madikeri, Virajpet and Somwarpet, many accommodations are available here.

Dubare Elephant Camp


The Dubare Elephant Camp place looks like an natural island situated on the banks of the river Kaveri and very near to Kushalanagara and an opt place for picnics, here the trained elephants which belongs to forest department can be seen, fishing is an another activity here but with permission of Coorg Wildlife Society at Madikeri.

How to reach Dubare Elephant Camp


Many private taxis are available from Kushalanagara, Suntikoppa and from Siddapur, but all these place are bit tardy to travel as they are not well connected, the visitors are requested to take much precautions before swimming and one need to carry food as no shops are available here.

Harangi dam


This dam is situated at Kushalanagar and built across the tributary of river Kaveri, this dam is around 47 meters in height and 846 meters in length, which is considered as one of the most beautiful place for picnics, the beauty of this dam is more when the dam is fully filled, the ideal time to visit is August and September, many guest house facilities are available here which is maintained by state owned public works department.
