How to face an interview


Facing an interview is really task to be discussed prior to attending the interview, here are some tips, how to face an interview.

Whether you are a fresher facing your first interview or an experienced professional, the prospect of facing personal interview is quite nervous and tense. Every moment of your presence in the interview is assessed by the interviewer, however if some useful tips are followed, interview may become quite normal and you will be successful.

Fact Finding


Any interviewer is pleased to meet a candidate who knows much about the organization. Therefore before going to interview try to collect information about the organization through various sources like websites. The information includes such as the number of years in business, background or promoters or management, business divisions or product range, financial information such as turnover or profit etc.

Preparation


Keep all your documents like certificates, testimonials, and experience letters nearly in an order, in a document folder or file. Carry supplementary documents like additional training, project reports, which will add more weightage.

Dressing


It is necessary to dress appropriately for an interview. A formal wear with light colors is ideal for the interview. A neat hair styling, cleaned nails and a polished shoes are must.

Arrive early


Arrive at the venue at least 10-15 minutes early that give you an opportunity to settle down comfortably for the interview. Try to observe the displays, brochures, related to the industry.

Approach


Enter the interview hall with full of confidence by keeping aside the nervousness. Your first impression is crucial in the interview. First knock the door, enter confidently greet the interviewers with smile and wait for their signal to take your seat. Sit comfortably and be attentive for the questions. Do not sit with tension and anxiety in the face. Sit back comfortably on the chair with the legs not crossed. Just use your natural body language. In any interview three qualities are assessed they Attitude, Experience and inter personal relations.

In the first phase of interview they ask to tell about your self, you tell briefly about yourself. Next phase will have technical questions to test your technical skills. In the interview avoid asking questions related to working hours, leave, holidays etc. But you may negotiate for the remuneration, place of working, salary, joining date etc. Once the interview is over, thank the interviewers and greet them appropriately before leaving.
