Story Kannada Movie Puthra

Puthra

The only one film released this Friday, the 13th Kannada Movie Puthra is based on a story of a strict father and the obedient son. The father is running a grocery shop and is able to maintain the family just comfortably. The father Narasimha (Avinash) had to struggle to come up in life and did not want his son Krishna (played by Diganth) to be easy go, careless or indifferent. So he is very strict with the son. He does not even get good cloths to wear for his son. But Krishna understands his father and is obedient and does not do anything to that he feels is against his father's wish. This is a rare phenomenon in the present day society where even an indirect anger from parents sends the children out. But the hero Krishna concentrates on his studies and comes out as rank holder in the final examination in Structural Engineering. During the graduation his classmate Madhu (played by Rupashree) falls in love with him. But Krishna has developed a love for his childhood companion who is also a relation though they have not seen or communicated with each other because of some quarrel between the father of Krishna and of childhood friend Thulasi (played by Supritha). Krishna's mother has no objection to the girl. But father do not want anything to with that family. When Krishna's father went out on some work, Krishna with the knowledge of his mother goes to the girl's house on his scooter. In the meantime, the girl Thulsi's grandfather was seriously ill and getting the news Krishna's father Narasimha who was in the area decides to go and see the ailing relative, the grandfather of Thulasi. He sees the scooter of Krishna there. In the meantime Krishna knowing his father's sudden visit skips from there. When Narasimha come back home, the shouting and arguments takes place and Krishna goes out and gets a good job. Krishna goes back to his father to explain his version of the case. On hearing Krishna's version his father Narasimha gets convinced and everything ends well. The theme of the story is very relevant today as it shows that proper communications is the proper way to solve problems. If one side is aggressive and the other side keeps cool and explains at the opportune time the problem get resolved. This essence of the story is applicable not only to the present day families but also to the society as whole.

The film is a remake of a Tamil super hit film by name 'Enthan Magan' (my son) based on a story by one writer Thirumurgan.

The film Puthrahas mainly roles only for Diganth and Avinash. Others are all having minor roles which do not give much chance to the actors to show their talents. The role of the strict father by Avinash is similar to the ones he usually portrays as an angry man and he had done his role of the angry father justice. Diganth as the obedient son has done a very good performance. This role for Diganth is totally different from his earlier roles in his recent films where he has an extremely talkative role. Tennis Krishna as the comedian in the film has given a nice emotional performance.
