Champawat is a district of Uttarakhand and is situated very near Pithoragarh. This district was named after the name of Champawati who was the daughter of famous king Arjun Deo. It is situated in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. It is believed that the Lord Vishnu (a very famous God of Hindus) once visited Champawat during his Kurmavatar.
