of river Alakananda. There is a thermal spring situated very near to the Badrinath temple and it is one of

Badrinath temple was established by Adi Shankaracharya in 8th century, but the structure of temple of was renovated by the kings of Garhwal. In the temple there are 15 idols of lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Parvati, Garuda, and others. All the idols are made of black stone.
