The university has participated in many states and the awards won by, speak up much about the university and this university works on various fields and has given the nation a bunch of good citizens. This university is situated in the hilly area of Uttarakhand.
Kumaun University
This university is located at the hilly area of Uttarakhand and has made all the will to serve the state and to uplift the socially and economically weak region of the state. Since the state holds good varieties of herbs and shrubs so this university has come up with special centers like area of bio-diversity, bio-active matters. This university has departments which look at the changing ecosystems in the state and culture/Human adaptation in order to get the best out of these minerals and to provide the people of the state with great amount of products to make ease in their lives.
This state has got massive mountains so also the hilly people has to see different climate changes for the whole year so the special attention is given to such geographical areas by the state in order to give the best available option to the people and minimize their challenge of living in such a place.
Departments in Kumaun University- This is not the end of the University. It has the department like Physics, Geology and Chemistry functioning under the special assistance program of the university grant commission and FIST programme. This FIST is in four departments namely Forestry at DSB Campus, Nainital and Geology at SSJ Campus and last but not the least is Botany.
Center of the excellence has been considered as the Physice department. Similarly, department of Geography for the setting up Centre of Excellence. NRDMS in Uttarakhand is given by the department of science and technology.
The university has participated in many states and the awards won by speak up much about the university. University has achieved deiierent awards like two Bhatnagar awards and much number of national and international awards too. Two FNAs have been also won by this very university.
