How to Use Multimeter

This resource contains full information to use Multimeter to measure electrical equipments and components.

How to Use Multimeter

Introduction:

Multimeter is an electronic devise use to measure electrical values of components like resistances, transistors, and also use to measure AC as well as DC voltage. If you are new with electronics and if you do not know much about Multimeter so this article may very useful for you.

The original picture of Multimeter is as shown bellow:

How to use:

Step1: If you want to measure DC voltage, move the knob to left where the symbol of DC current is also printed on block. Start your measuring from lowest value of your Multimeter.

2

Step2: If you want to measure AC voltage, move the knob towards right at the symbol of AC voltage as shown in picture.

3

Step3: If you want to measure resistance value then move the knob at lower left as shown in figure. While measuring resistor start measuring from lowest value and then increase one by one.

4

Step4: If you want to check connection then move the knob over diode symbol as shown.

5

Step5: If you want to check LED light stay the knob on same diode symbol as shown in above figure and connect the terminals of LED to two terminals of Multimeter.
