Superstar Rajnikanth's next film Rana features him in a triple role. Directed by K.S.Ravikumar (director of Rajnikanth's earlier films Muthu and Padayappa)is likely to begin the film's shooting next month. The film will be released next year in Tamil, Telegu and Hindi. The film Rana is being co-produced by Eros International and Chennai based-Ocher Studios - the Studio's director is Rajnikanth's daughter Soundarya.



Rana Film Story: In various interviews with the media, director K. S. Ravikumar has said that the film Rana will be a period film and an out-and-out action entertainer, emphasizing that superstar Rajinikanth will don a totally different look. In his previous blockbuster Robot, Rajnikanth has also taken up a triple role, but K.S.Ravikumar said that the triple role in Rana will be completely different. After all, Robot was a partial sci-fi film, whereas Rana is a period film.

Rana film Heroines: Although the makers of the film Rana have not officially declared the names of the actors playing the lead female roles, it is widely rumoured that Deepika Padukone will play one of the lead roles and Trisha Krishnan is likely to play the second lead female role. At present, Trisha is shooting for Ajith Kumar's film Mangaatha.

Rana Film Music will be composed by Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman.
