Anil Kumble started playing for Karnataka team against Hyderabad in the year 1989 and he took 4 Wickets. Anil Kumble's debuti n One Day International (ODI) match is Austrail Asia Cup tournament at Sharjah in the year 1989-90 against Sri Lanka. He took 1 wicket in this match. Anil Kumble debut in international cricket on 25 April 1990.Anil Kumble was appointed as Captain of Indian Test Cricket Team in the year 2007. Anil Kumble first assignment was Test Series against Pakistan, in which the Indian team won by 1-0. Anil Kumble played 132 test matches in which he took 619 wickets and he played 271 ODI matches in which he took 337 wickets. Anil Kumble announced his retirement from Cricket career gracefully on the 2nd of November 2008.

1. In 1999, New Delhi Anil Kumble have taken all 10 wickets of Pakistan in a Test innings . Only two bowlers have done this achievement (Anil Kumble and Jim Laker).

2. In 2004,October Anil Kumble became the Third Best Spinner in the history of test cricket. (First Muttiah Muralitharan, Second Shane Warne, Third Anil Kumble)

3. In 2004 Anil Kumble became Second best Indian bowler. (First Kapil Dev).
