A Shiva temple, which is otherwise called as Vadathirunallar is situated near Pallavaram, Chennai. This temple is about 800 years old and is in Pozhichalur Village. This Tamilnadu temple is called as Agastheeswarar temple as Agasthiyar is said to have worshiped Shiva here on his return from Himalayas.the Amman is called as Anandavalli.

A separate Saneeswarar idol facing west is said to be powerful. This temple is referred in Nadi jothidam for 'parikarams'. That is why this place is called also as 'Vadathirunallaru'. Shivarathiri, Sani peyarchi and other shivaites festivals are celebrated here. People who want to get relieved of 'Sani thosham' can come and worship in this temple. Plenty of buses are available from Pallavaram (Chennai) to Pozhichalur.

Pozhichalur is originally named as 'Pugazh Chozha Nallur' during Chozha Kingdom. This temple is managed by trust of hereditary Saiva Vellalas. the Tamil Nadu tourism department also arranges ' nava graha tour' to nava graha temples in and around Chennai. In its list, Pozhichalaur temple is described as 'Saneeswara sthalam'
