Tamilnadu education. Due to uncertainty the children and teachers confused with the pattern of syllabus to be followed. In the meanwhile, both the political party made the samacheer kalvi as a prestigious issue leaving the children of Tamilnadu idle for more than a month in school with no activity. Eventually, the matter brought to the high court and filed a petition for postponing the Samacheer Kalvi issue Tamilnadu. After listening the whole clarification of the state government, the Madras High court said there is no sufficient reason for withholding the decision of implementing samacheer kalvi issue in Tamilnadu. During the development of samacheer kalvi issue, no book was issued to the school children as there was no decision has been taken over the issue. All children have no alternatives except waiting for the court verdict. Around 9 crore books were printed and stacked in the godown for the supply of children. In a next hearing the Madras high court ordered the state government of Tamilnadu to distribute the books printed for the samacheer kalvi thittam by July 22 without making further delay.

Following this High court verdict, the state government determined to take up the matter to the Supreme court of India. As per the petition of state government filed at the supreme court requesting order for postponing the samacheer kalvi thittam till the next academic year. A bench comprising three judge heared the clarification from the state government of Tamilnadu after making all points clear, the highest judiciary in India approved the verdict of the Madras High court with the correction that the books should be issued latest by August, 2 instead of the High court order of July,22.

Final verdict of Supreme court over the Samacheer kalvi


Not bending to the state government's repeated request , appeal and clarification, the Supreme court of India given its final verdict on 9th August,2011 with the words 'samcheer kalvi must be implemented in the same academic year 2011-2012 within 10 days from this order.' After the final verdict of Supreme court of India over the samacheer kalvi thittam, the state government find no other alternative solutions except following the court order. So,the court put a full-stop for the three month long ongoing samacheer kalvi thittam issue for ever. The children of Tamilnadu expressed their happiness over resolving the issue.

We can never get a better example than the samacheer kalvi issue that the political parties search for their own benefit on the life of our own children but the judiciary setup of India thinks of the life of children than any other prestige issue.
