A heavy price drop has taken place in international crude oil prices per unit measure. As a result, the opposition parties demanded the central petrochemical ministry to reduce the petrol prices upto Rs.5. We may expect further drop upto Re.1 and it will be amended from tomorrow!

Petrol prices to further drop by Re.1 - Effect in Tamilnadu

This comes as a good news to all those motorists out there!
International crude oil prices drop heavily. Due to this, the opposition parties demanded a drop in fuel prices upto Rs.5. To this request, the Petroleum companies have responded with a reduction of Re.1 per litre of petrol and this price drop is to be amended by tomorrow! Looks like taking a bike to office will be much cheaper when compared to going to office by Tamilnadu MTC buses!

Recently, I heard that, in Madurai, the sale of second hand bikes is gaining momentum! People, who used to spend Rs.25 traveling to office and back home, are now forced to spend upto Rs.40, due to the increased bus ticket rates. They say that, they can get a good second hand bike for just upto Rs.20,000. Also it gives mileage of upto 50 kmpl. Whatever calculations you do, going by bike will be just Rs.10 costlier per day compared to bus travel. Also, you have the liberty of starting anytime and also you needn't walk!!!

But I fear already the CO2 levels in the atmosphere are alarmingly high! If the number of motorists increase, we will create an even thicker blanket of CO2 and bake up our mother earth!!!
