In her letter, she requested PM for allocating 1000MW of additional power to the state Tamilnadu for atleast one year.

In her letter she also said, "This inaction and non-responsiveness to their continuous requests during the crisis for power shows Callousness on the part of the centre. Like BHEL, NLC, NTPC, major projects executed by Central PSUs. She also said that the state government of Tamilnadu is also consuming power from nearby states. But because of the non-availability of Transmission corridor, they are facing a lot of problems for receiving power from the nearby states. For explaining this problem she said that State Tamilnadu had contracted 500MW of power from state Gujarat but because of respected problem they are getting only 203MW of power.

Jayalalithaa also said that this power deficit situation of state tamilnadu because of the un-availability of transmission corridor has also been represented before the central authority many times. In her letter she wrote, " I request you to kindly intervene in this matter and also ensure the state government that the required quantum of 1000MW of power transmission lines is released to make Tamilnadu electricity board to receive contracted power.
