Chief Minister J.Jayaram Jayalalithaa announced in Assembly that Tamilnadu supremacy is going to open 2 engineering, 7 polytechnic and 11 arts and science colleges in the existing intellectual year.

Jayalalithaa said that these colleges would accomplish the ideas of rustic students eager on looking for privileged and technical education. Adding this, she said "This will consequence in employment chances and will improve the financial and conditions of the people living in Tamilnadu. Jayalalitha said that the technical colleges would be opened at place Chengipatti of Thanjavur district and Chettikarai panchayat of Dharmapuri district. The polytechnic colleges in TN is going to be open in Tiruchi district, Pudukottai district, in Villupuram district, Erode district, Ariyalur district, Krishnagiri district and in Vellore district too.

CM of Tamilnadu said that the degree colleges which are going to be open are going to be the essential colleges of the universities in the areas described above. J.Jayalalithaa said that development of advanced and technical education only would swathe the method for upgrading and which, in turn, would guarantee improvement.
