Thiagarajar College Of Engineering is one of best Engineering college in Tamilnadu and is reputable from year 1957. The college got affiliation from Anna University and is situated in Madurai district of state Tamilnadu. The College was established by Late. Shri. Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar which offers number of courses related to technical knowledge and are approved by All India Council for Technical Education. Journey of Thiagarajar College of Engineering
In year 1957 – 1958, Engineering program in TCE started.
In year 1958 – 1959, Madras University approved BE courses in Thiagarajar College of Engineering in courses like Civil, Electrical and Mechanical stream.
In year 1959 – 1960, Thiagarajar open a new program of B.sc with a duration of 3 years.
In year 1968 – 1969, TCE discontinue BE program and open a subject unit system.
In year 1969 – 1970, Thiagarajar College of Engineering started to get acknowledged as a PhD research centre for subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.
In year 1971 – 1972, Thiagarajar introduce programs like

M.Sc Structural Engineering (Civil)

In year 1972 – 1973, TCE started to get acknowledgment as a PhD centre for Civil and Electrical Engineering.
In year 1973 – 1974, TCE introduce a new program of B.Sc. (Applied Sciences).
In year 1975 – 1976, Thiagarajar College of Engineering started its engineering and management Consultancy facilities.
In year 1976 – 1977, TCE open Semester System.

In year 1980 – 1981, Thiagarajar College of Engineering reduces degree of BE to 4 years.
In year 1985 – 1986, Thiagarajar College of Engineering started BE in Computer Sciences and Engineering and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
In year 1986 – 1987, TCE started ME in Industrial Engineering and M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry.
In year 1995 – 1996, TCE started B.Arch in Communication Sysems and ME in Communication Systems too.
1997 – 1998, Thiagarajar College of Engineering ME Production Engineering.
In year 1998 – 1999, TCE started BE in Mechatronics.
In year 1999 – 2000, Thiagarajar College started a new couse in engineering which is Information Technology a barnd during this period Bar coding introduced in the library.
In year 2001 – 2002, TCE started BE Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering program with a duration of four years.
In year 2003, Thiagarajar College of Engineering started facility of girls hostel.
In year 2005, Thiagarajar College of Engineering started CCC with 24/7 computing facility.
In year 2006, Thiagarajar College start all UGPrograms again.
In year 2007, TCE start M.Tech in Environmental Engineering.
In year 2008, Thiagarajar College of Engineering celebrate their Golden Jubilee.
In year 2009, College of Engineering open New Information Technology department.
In year 2009, TCE made an agreement with Yahoo! for cloud computing.
In year 2010, Thiagarajar College of Engineering open their own Indoor stadium.
