Red hills lake



The Red Hills Lake is also refereed as Puzhal Lake. Red hill lake is situated in Thiruvallur district of state Tamilnadu. The water of this lake is reserved in two main reserviors . The water of this lake is used to give supply to Chennai (Madurai). Red hill lake is having a capacity of 3,300 million ft³ (93 million m³) to store water.

Chembarambakkam Lake



Chembarambakkam lake is situated in Kanchipuram district. Chembarambakkam lake is located at a distance of 40 km from Madurai of Tamilnadu. Like Red hills lake, the water of this lake too is reserved in two main reservoirs.As it is near to Chennai thus from this lake of Tamilnadu, water is supplied to Chennai for drinking purpose.The other resource where water is reserved is Puzhal lake. The total capacity of this lake to store water is 85.40 ft (26.03 m). The aggregate level of reservoir where water is stored is approximately 75.60 ft (23.04 m).

Veeranam Lake



Veeranam Lake is situated at a distance of 14 km from Chidambaram. Veeranam lake is one of the largest lake of Tamilnadu. Veeranam lake is situated in Cuddalore district of state Tamilnadu. Tamilnadu's large lake is situated at a distance of 235km from the capital of Tamilnadu. This lake of Tamilnadu is fed by Vadavar River.The major drawback of this lake is that most of the year, it remains dry. Veeranam lake was built by Chola empire in 1011 to 1037 AD.

Pulicat Lake



Pulicat lake is situated on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Coromandal beach of state Tamilnadu. Pulicat lake is the second largest water pond of India. Pulicat lake is used by the people for fishing purpose.

Kolavai Lake



Kolavai Lake is situated in Kanchipuram district of Tamilnadu. It is one of the major tourist attraction of Chengalpattu one of the tourist spots, which lies on the eastern side of Chengalpattu city. As Kolavai lake is located in Chengalpattu thus sometimes referred as Chengalpattu lake. Kolavai lake is situated at a distance of two km from Chengalpattu city. Tourist coming to the lake are facilitated with boat to enjoy the beauty of the lake. If you want to visit this lake then you can reach here through Chennai. Ambattur Lake



Ambattur Lake get water from natural resource like rain. Ambattur lake is ful during the period of monsoon. The water of this lake is supplied to Madurai for drinking purpose.

Kodaikanal Lake



Kodaikanal Lake is also referred as Kodai Lake. Kodai lake is a synthetic lake created by human itself. Kodaikanal lake is situated in Dindigul region of state Tamilnadu. Kodaikanal lake was established by Britishers and at that time it is one of the most famous tourist attraction of state Tamilnadu. Singanallur Lake



Singanallur lake is situated in Coimbatore town of Tamilnadu. Singallur lake is the biggest tourist attraction of Coimbatore city. If you want to head towards this lake then through Podanur and Irugur railway you can reach here. Singanallur lake is the home of many birds as a number of approximately 110 species of birds live here for a specific period of time.

Valankulam Lake



Valankulam Lake is in between Sungam region of state Tamilnadu. Valankulam lake is situated in Coimbatore city of Tamilnadu. If you want to reach to this lake then through Sungam junction, you can reach as Sungam junction is well connected to a trichy road that heads towards Valankulam lake.
