She has one brother whose name is Raja Mukherjee who is well-known director and producer. Her maternal aunt is Debashree Roy who is a very famous actress of Bengal Tollywood Industry. Rani Mukherjee did her schooling from Maneckji Cooper High School in Juhu in Mumbai and then completed her graduation from Mithibai College in Mumbai. During her school days she got Odissi dance training and now she is also a trained Odissi dancer. During her college days she has acted in some plays and dramas organized in their colleges and slowly slowly developed a passion towards acting.
Acting Career of Rani Mukherjee
In the year 1992 Rani Mukherjee for the first time acted in the Bengali movie "Biyer Phool" opposited famous actor Prasenjit Chatterjee and which is directed by her father. But she was not so much appreciated at that time. In the year 1997 she made her first debut film in Bollywood in the movie "Raja Ki Aayegi Barat" but this film also became superflop. In the year 1998 she acted in the movie "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" opposite Shahrukh Khan and directed by Karan Johar. This film became superhit in the boxoffice. Though her appearance in this movie was very less but her acting was really appreciated and she also became famous with this movie. From then onwards she was offered very much promising roles in the movies and most of the movies became famous. She formed popular onscreen pairs with many famous actors of Bollywood.
