Bratya Basu was born on 25th September in the year 1969. His father's name was Mr. Bishnu Basu. He was a very good student in his study career. He passed out from Presidency College and Kolkata University of West Bengal. Before becoming the Education Minister Mr. Bratya Basu was the professor in City college of Kolkata. Except this he has also some special weakness in Bengali theater. He has written many famous dramas and gave direction in theaters of West Bengal. He has also acted in many Bengali films and also in many TV serials of West Bengal. He was also the best in that. In the year 2008 he has chosen some peoples and formed his own theater group. During the disturbance in Singur and Nandigram he was very disappointed on the ruling party. So he came to this politics environment to help the people of West Bengal. He contested the Assembly election in West Bengal as a candidate of Trinamool Congress and also won that election and now he is the education minister of West Bengal.
