Raidighi B.Ed college is one of the leading teacher training institution with NCTE recognized and affiliated to University of Calcutta. The aim of the institution is to set the foundation for producing dedicated and spirited teachers who can bring excellence in the scholarly quality of the learners they come across and play a vital role in knowledge building . It has been felt that there is a tremendous need of trained teachers in Secondary and Higher Secondary schools of our state , particularly in the district of South 24 Parganas . That's why this Bed college has been established to provide a number of skilled teachers to our education society . Prof(Dr.) Bhabagrahi Biswal is the present principle of this institution.

The intimate relationship between the teachers and the trainees are very good coupled with mutual modesty and humanity is likely to provide a lively learning atmosphere in the college. There is a well formed , nit and clean canteen facility with various healthy foods are available. Also, the college offers a library where students can get a large number of books as well as internet facility. The institution has well-equipped laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany , Geography and Computer Science, History and Education. Excursion cum educational tour is being arranged every year in which the participation of the trainees is compulsory at their own cost. The college also intends to provide the trainees 'Education and Edusat Networks' facility under UGC-INFONENT connecting scheme in the collaboration with West Bengal Technological University.

1. Theory Papers(600 marks)

A. The course is comprised of 3 compulsory papers each divided in to two halves of 50 marks each which is mentioned below:

Paper I: Foundation and development of education in Independent India.(100 marks)
First Half: Foundation of education(50 marks)
Second half: Historical development of education in Independent India.(50 marks)

Paper II: Psychology of learning and instruction (100 marks).
First Half: Psychology of learning (50 marks).
Second half: Psychological base of instruction (50 marks).

Paper III: Education Mangement (100 marks).
First Half: Institutional management (50 marks).
Second half : Management of Manpower and resources (50 marks).

B. Pedagogical study of school subjects (200 marks)

Paper IV & V(100 marks for each paper) : Candidates can choose two school subjects from the following pedagogical studies:

a) Bengali
b) English
c) Mathematics
d) Life science
e) Physical science
f) Work education
g) Geography
h) Education
i) History

C. Paper VI: Compulsory Elective Paper (any one, 100 marks)

a) Population and Environmental Education
b) Education in Ancient, Medieval and British India
c) Measurement and Evolution in education.

2. Practical Papers (400 marks)

Paper VII & VIII : Development of teaching skills and instructional materials ( two method papers, 100 marks each)(200 marks).

Paper IX: Teaching practical for Method subjects (50 +50 marks).

Paper X: Practical lesson plan, teaching aids etc. (100 marks).

3. Teaching methods :

You should catch Namkhana, Laxmikantapur or Kakdwip local trains from Sealdah South section and have to drop on Mathurapur station. Then you have to take bus which takes around 30 minutes to reach in the college.
