Those who cross the CLRI to go either to Adayar or to go to Tharamani cannot miss the temple in the junction - Madhya Kailash Temple.

With the presiding deity or the moolavar Ananda Vinayakar in the middle, the temple have Lord Siva, Surya, Devi, Vishny, Anchaneya, Bhairavar, Muruga and also Adhyantha Prabhu. Vinayaka is the significant form of OM and to represent it the seven swaras of music, 7 bells are installed in the temple to represent each swara and an additional bell to represent the end swara Sa. The most wonderful thing about this temple is the sun's rays falls on Vinayaka on the Vinayaka Chaturthi day.

Another speciality of this temple is Adhyantha Prabu. He is part Vinayaka and part Anjaneya. Anjaneya on the left side and Vinayaka on the right side. Representing the first and last. Aadhi means first, andham means last. One can show Karpoora Haarthi to this idol themselves.

It is a must for all humans to perform annual rites or Pithru Karma to his or her parents. But due to so many unavoidable circumstances, it is not so very much possible. Madhya Kailash temple have formed a Pitru Kattalai trust to perfom such last rites. Every day between 12 noon to 12.30 pm a priest wearing wet cloth after bath collects a bundle of Dharbai from the feet of Ananda Vinayakar - he is the representative of Vinayaka himself. He then goes to the Vishnu Sannidhi where cooked rice is kept ready, as per the number of ththis given on that day. After doing the neivedhyam (he is the promoter of the entire process), it is taken to the shrine of Lord Shiva who is the ultimate for Pitru Karma. There in his shrine, the rice takes the form of Pindams and is carried to the shrine of Aaditya and from there it is offerred to the crows on a platform.

As Vinayaka himself is the Karta, no mantras are chanted but a salutation to all the pitrus vargam wise to accept the pindams and bless their generations.

There are two bus stops just near Madhya Kailash one on the OMR and the other on the Sardar Patel Road. The bus stop is named CLRI.
