Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area do 70.13 sq. km. It is a fascinating habitat to rare and endangered species of birds and animals including One-Horned Rhinoceros, Leopard, Asiatic Water Buffalo, Civet Cat, Bengal Tiger, Fishing Cat, Lesser Cat, Elephant, Leopard Cat, Wild Pig, Wild Boar, Barking Dear, Hog Deer, Black Deer, etc. and more than 225 species of birds, including the migratory birds and endangered Bengal Florican. There are also approx. 9 species of Amphibians, 14 species of reptiles and bout 39 species of various fishes in the sanctuary.
