The Chamera Dam is situated across Ravi River near the town of Dalhousie in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
It supports the hydroelectricity projects around the area.
It is 741 ft high and 295 ms long.
It generates 540 MW of electricty when its first phase was developed.
In second phase the dam generates 300 MW of electricity.
The water level in the Chamera lake rises to a maximum of 763 ms while the minimum level is 747 ms.
It is an ideal location for water sports. Sports activities like-
rowing,
motor boating,
paddle boating,
sailing canoeing,
angling,
kayaking, are available in this lake.
