பொங்கலோ பொங்கல்...
• ஆசையா கனாகண்டு
அறுவடை நாள் எதிர்பார்த்து
மவராசி கையால
மொதநாள் வெதவெதச்சு
பக்குவமா பதம்பார்த்து
பிள்ளையப் போல
பயிர் வளர்த்து
கண்டுகண்டு கலைகள
கவனமாக் களைஞ்சு
பொன்னை போல
பாதுகாத்து வேளியிட்டு
ஆசையா வளர்த்து
அறுவடை நாள் எதிர்பார்த்து
என்கனவு நினவாச்சு
பொங்களும்தான் பூத்தாச்சு.....!
[Myself a Farmer,
Dreaming about the Day of Harvest..
From the Day one of sowing seeds
Taking care of my farm as my child,
Looking after my farm with great care,
Here comes THE PONGAL
My Dream Day...]
• விடியல்ல விளக்கு வச்சு
வாசலில் சாணந் தெளிச்சு
நட்சத்திரம் கொண்டு புள்ளியிட்டு
மின்னல் கீற்றுகளால் கம்பியிட்டு
மகாலட்சுமியை வரவேற்றேன்....!
மாக்கோல வாசலிலே .....!
[I lighted my home in the dawn
Coloured with Stars and lightning
To welcome My Godess Mahalakshmi
In the traditional way of my TamilNadu...]
• புதுபொண்ணாய் அலங்கரித்த
புதுப்பானையில் பூப்போல
புத்தரிசி வேக வேக...
உழவர்களின் மனம் போல
வெல்லமும் தித்திக்க
பார்த்து பார்த்து
பொங்கலும் பொங்கியாச்சு
குலவைச் சத்தத்தில்
மனசு நெறஞ்சாச்சு....
[I Dressed my pongal Mud Pot
Like a glorious bride
As the pongal steams
Like our mind of happiness
Jaggery tastes as our Mind
My Dream day comes true
Along with the sweet pongal]
• தீந்தமிழாய் பொங்கல் மணக்க
தங்கமாய் சூரியன் உதிக்க
மங்கலமே மனதில் நிலைபெற
மஞ்சள்போல் வாழ்வு தழைத்திட
உழைப்பின் திருநாளாம் பொங்கலில்
விவசாயியின் வேர்வைத் துளிகளாய்
செங்கரும்பின் சுவை இனிக்க
உழைப்பின் பெருமையை உலகமறியவே
உன்னை வணங்கினோம் ஆதவனே !
உள்ளமெல்லாம் பூரிக்கும் என்னவனே !
[As Pongal tastes like my Tamizh
As Golden sunrise appears east
As Our life fills with happinesss
As Sugarcane sweets as Farmers hardwork
The Day of Pongal is the Day of Hardwork
