The full name of Tamil Actor Karthi is "Karthick Sivakumar" the only brother of Tamil Actor Surya. Born in a family which has well connected with cini field Karthi has not taken so hard efforts to get the chance. The first movie which has given him the identification is Paruthi Veeran in 2007. He also got an award for this film as a best actor. His father Siva Kumar who is also a cini actor had directed both of his sons Surya and Karthi to his own field. Karthi has completed his schoolings in St. Bede's Anglo Indian H.Sec. School in Chennai. After completion of his studies he pursued his undergraduate course in Crescent Engineering College. After the completion of under graduate studies Karthi flew U.S for his higher studies. After having completed his master degree in Engineering he worked there for few years in U.S. Having interest on Tamil movies he had planned to enter Tamil film industry. For this reason he has completed few courses on film making. 
In the beginning he has acted in the Tamil movie "Aayutha Ezhuthu" directed by a well known Tamil movie directory Mani Rathnam. But the role of Karthi Aautha Ezhuthu was not recognised by the people. Later Karthi got the chance to act in another movie under the direction of Ameer Sultan. This movie was "Paruthi Veeran" which has given him the identification. The movie ran for number of days and became Mega hit in Tamil Nadu. Within that single movie he was known to all. In this movie Karthi acted as a village boy who does all types of rowdism with his uncle. The comedies are also very good in this movie.
After having given a successful movie Karthi had very good demand from the directors. He had acted his second film "Aayirathil Oruvan" in 2010. This movie has taken so much of days to come on screen and hence did not bring any effect to him. His next movie "Paiyaa" was another successful movie.
