Tamilnadu Special Coconut or thengai chutney


Tamilnadu special coconut chutney or Tamilnadu special thengai chutney is an easy to make chutney and it goes well with idlis and dosais. It is also a Tamilnadu chutney for weight loss.

Ingredients:
Grated coconut 2 cup
Fried gram 1 cup
Green chillies 3 nos
Ginger a small pinch
Salt to taste

Grind all the above in a mixie. Then garnish with spluttered mustard, urid dal, curry leaves and coriander. You can try a variation of the coconut chutney by grinding coconut, dry chillies (3 in number, garlic and fried gram).

Tamilnadu Special Groundnut/peanut or verkadalai chutney


If you are bored with the usual thengai chutney, then you can try Tamilnadu special grondnut/peanut chutney or Tamilnadu special verkadalai chutney. It also a chutney for pregnant women as it contains lot of folates.

Ingredients:
Groundnuts 1 cup
Tamarind a small ball
Onion 1
Garlic 3
Salt to taste

Fry the sliced onions and garlic till they are golden brown and grind everything in a mixie. Then garnish with spluttered mustard, urid dal, curry leaves and coriander.

Tamilnadu Special Tomato or thakkali chutney


Tamilnadu Thakkali ChutneyIf you are looking for a very spicy chutney, then try the spicy tomato chutney or special thakkali chutney will be your choice.

Ingredients:
Tomato 1 kilo
Dry red chillies 8 to 10
Tamarind lemon sized
Gingely oil to sorte
Salt to taste

Cut the tomato into slices and sorte them along with chillies and tamarind in a kadai with gingely oil. Keep it aside so that it cools. Then grind it with salt. Sort this paste in a kadai again and garnish with spluttered mustard seeds. You can add gingery oil with this chutney while serving.

Another chutney that you can try is the Onion chutney or special vengaya chutney or the chutney for glowing skin

Ingredients:
Onion 2 big ones
Tomato 1
Tamarind marble sized
Curry leaves
Ginger a small piece
Red chillies 3 in nos
Coconut grated 1 small cup
Salt to taste

Sorte all the above ingredients in pan for sometime. Allow it to cool and then garnish with spluttered mustard, urid dal, curry leaves and coriander.

Tamilnadu Special Coriander or kottamalli chutney


If you don't want spicy chutneys you can try the Special Coriander or kottamalli chutney which is best Tamilnadu summer chutney.

Ingredients:
Coriander leaves a bunch nicely cleaned
Green chillies 2 in nos
Tamarind marble sized
Coconut grated 1 cup grated
Salt to taste

Sorte all the above in a pan and grind them in a mixie. Garnish with spluttered mustard seeds and urid dal. You can add a pinch of sugar at the end if you like.

Ingredients:
Curry leaves 1 bunch
Onion 1
Tomato 1
Red chillies 3 nos
Tamarind marble sized
Coconut 1 cup grated
Salt to taste

Sort all the above and grind it in a mixie. Garnish with spluttered mustard seeds and urid dal.
