Biography and Career Records of Sourav Ganguly

This article gives information about the Indian Cricketer Sourav Ganguly. Get to know his biography and career details. How he led the Indian team during his career as a Captain of the Indian Cricket Team.

Many vociferous supporters of the men in blue maintain that Sourav Ganguly was our best cricket captain. Yes, definitely! "Dada", more than any other captain, had that raw hunger and passion to lead his team to victory. When he led the team on to the field, you would never see a drooping shoulder. Every head would be held high, every stride would be firm; no matter that the team was looking at an uphill task to win a match. The fire was there, sparked off by a dynamic captain who also had the ability to make good field placements. Sourav Ganguly could inspire his team like no captain before him.

That fire, that dynamism, and that inspirational motivation is very much present, long after Sourav has stepped out of his captain's shoes. He entered the field of administration, becoming a member of the Cricket Board's Technical Committee headed by Sunil Gavaskar. It was good to see a youngster entering that esteemed committee. Our country needs young leaders in every field. Dada is one of them. Perhaps a day will come when he will become a vital cog in the wheel of progress in sports in general and not just cricket.

Before taking up the administrative reins, Sourav picked up the mike for ESPN-STAR Sports to give his expertise on air for the ICC World Twenty20. Not quite on par with the famous Geoffrey Boycott whose commentaries were always considered the best (though sometimes controversial!), Dada nevertheless did a fairly good job as a commentator in that exclusive air-conditioned box.

Sourav also branched off into the profitable restaurant business, with his venture titled Sourav's The Food Pavilion. With a great location, a vast menu and a famous name behind it, the multiplex restaurant attracts a fair number of diners.

Cricketer, captain, commentator, administrator, hotelier - What next? It is to be hoped that one day Sourav Ganguly will begin his own coaching academy and be a mentor to future captains. Go, Dada, go!

Sourav is not the owner of the resturent "Sourav's The Food Pavilion".

So,i think the term "hotelier" is not correct.
