History of Bengal: Pal Dynasty

Around 750 A.D., Gopal grasped the throne of Gaur,then capital of Bengal. He was elected by the general People. Around 770 A.D. Gopal's son Dharmapal was ascended to his throne. After Dharmapal, in 810 A.D. Devpal became the king of Bengal. During the reign of Pal dynasty, Bengal was flourished with resources and power. After the death of Devpal, Bigrahapal became the king in 850 A.D. and Narayan Pal followed him. Narayanpal ruled bengal from 854 A.D. to 908 A.D. During this time Pal dynasty get weakened. After his death, Rajyapal, Gopal II, Bigrahapal II and Mahipal ruled Bengal one after another.
During the rule of Pal dynasty Bengal was attacked by several other forces of the state and country. Rajendra of Chola Dynasty attacked Bengal during the reign of Mahipal II and defeated Pal dynasty. After Mahipal II, Noypal became the king. At that time there was poltical disturbances in Bengal. Noypal ruled from 1038-1054. During the reign of his son Bigrahapal III(1054-1072), there was constant fight in Bengal on the purpose of fragmenting Bengal.
After Bigrahapal III, Mahipal III came to the throne. At that time, the ministers revolted against him and to stop this revolt Mahipal III was killed. Now Rampal came to the throne and established himself as the king of Bengal(1077-1133). After his death Kumarpal came to the throne who was followed Gopal III. After Gopal's death Madanpal ruled Bengal. Aftere his death Govindapala (1162–1174) ruled Bengal and he was the last ruler of Pal Dynasty.
