Ingredients of Bengali Tomato Chatni Recipe:


1/2 kg tomatoes
few dates
2 tlbsp panch phoron
1/2 kg sugar
2 red chillies whole
1 tsp tamarind pulp
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

Preparation of Bengali Tomato Chatni Recipe:


1)First take a sharp knife and cut the tomatoes into quarter size pieces.
2)Then put the tamarind in warm water for some minutes.
3)Then take off the pulps from the tamarind and keep it in a pot.
4)Then boil water and add the sugar in it to make a thick sugar syrup.
5)Then put a pan on the stove and heat it.
6)Then take oil in it and fry the panch phoron and dry red chillies for some time.
7)When the chillies give a crackle sound then add the tomatoes and cook it.
8)Then add the sugar syrup and some salt for taste.
9)Then fry it till the colour changes to red.
10)Then add the tamarind pulp.
11)Then cook it for some time and serve it.
12)It tastes better with Samosa, bada, idlli etc.
