About Shantiniketan University
Shantiniketan is an ultimate University in West Bengal. Shantiniketan University is an International University. This university was founded by the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. It is the place where there is a mixture of East & the West cultures. This university is also represents Indian traditions while incorporating other cultures and the other name of this University is Vishva-Bharati. There is also some festivals are organized in this University. The festivals accompanied by songs, dance and dramas and are held here throughout the year. There is also some shopping market inside the campus of the University. Shantiniketan was initially an Ashram which was founded by Maharishi Devendranath Tagore the father of Rabindranath Tagore in the year 1863. But after him in the year 1910 his son Rabindranath Tagore converted this Ashram into an open air school with the help of five students. This five students were thye first batch of that School. This small open air school then gradually converted into a huge University and named as Shantiniketan University.
