Tomato Chutney is a very simple and easy recipe. Tomato Chutney is the best Indian condiment. It is a sweet dish which increases your taste. You should try this Tomato Chutney recipe whenever come to West Bengal. It takes 5 minutes for preparation, 20 minutes for cooking and can served by 4 people.

Ingredients of Bengali Tomato Chutney Recipe:


1/2 kg tomatoes
1/2 kg sugar
2 tblsp panch phoron
2 red chillies whole
1 tsp oil
1 tsp tamarind pulp
few dates
salt to taste

Preparation of Bengali Tomato Chutney Recipe:


1)First wash the tomatoes cleanly and cut them into quarter size pieces.
2)Then put the tamarind pulp into warm water and place it for 5 minutes.
3)Then take it out and strain the water from it.
4)Then boil water and add sugar to it to make a sugar syrup.
5)Then take a pan, heat oil and fry the panch phoron and dry red chillies.
6)When their is a crackling sound come from the pan then add the square sized tomatoes in it.
7)Then add the mixture to the previously prepared sugar syrup.
8)Then add the tamarind pulp.
9)Then make the fried panch phoron into powder.
10)Then sprinkle the powder on over the mixture.
11)Then the famous Bengali Tomato Chutney is ready to serve.
12)It tastes better with Bada and Samosa.
