About Ramkeli of Malda

RamKeli
Ramkeli is one of the best place to visit in Malda district of West Bengal. It is situated at a distance about 14 Km from south part of Malda district. It is a very samll village which is located on the way to Gour. This small village is famous for the temporary home of Mahaprabhu Sri Chaitanya who is the religious reformer of Werst Bengal. It is said that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had stayed in this small village for few days when he was on his way to Brindaban. Now the tree of tamal and kadamba is also there under where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu have meditated. There is also a temple is constructed under the tree where the god is the stone foot print of the great religious reformer Sri Chaitanya. There are also eight tanks are situated near the temple. The names of these tanks are : Rupsagar, Radhakunda, Surabhikunda, Lalitakunda, Ranjakunda, Shyamkunda, Indulekhakunda, Bishakhakunda,
These tanks are belived as holy tanks and the regional name is "Kundas". There is also many festivals are celebrated. The Jaishthya Sankranti festival is also celebrated for the arrival of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. It is celebrated for a week.

About Gour of Malda


Gour is located at a distance of about 16 kms from South Malda which is just near the border of Bangladesh. The fist thing it was the Capital of Ancient Bengal for several countries. This city is full of historical Importance. There are many places are located in Gour Such as : Baroduari / Boro Sona Mosque, Dakhil Darwaja, Firoz Minar, Chamkati Masjid, Chika Mosque,Luko Churi Gate, Kadam Rasul Mosque, Lattan Mosque, Kotwali Darwaja, Gumti Darwaza.

About Baroduari / Boro Sona Mosque
BaraSonaBaroduari mosque is located at a distance of just half kilometer from Ramkeli. This mosque is having a very structure of Stones and Bricks. Really it is looking very good and interesting. It is one of the largest monument of Gour. The name of the monument Baroduari mosque shows 12 doors but actually it is having eleven doors in it. The Length of the mosque is about 50.4 meters, Width 22.8 meters and height of 12 meters. The construction of this mosque was started by Allauddin Hussein Shah and it is completed by Nasiruddin Nusrat Shah in the year 1526 who was the son of Allauddin Hussein Shah. The architecture design and the ornamental stone carvings attracts the tourist to this monument.

About Dakhil Darwaja
Dakhil Darwaja is a very impressive gate way which was built in the year 1425. It is made of small ricks and terracotta works. This Muslim monument is 21 meters high and 34.5 meters of wide. The four corners of this monument is topped with 5 storey high towers. One interesting thing about the Dakhil Darwaja is cannons were used to fired from there. So the other name of Dakhil Darwaja is Salaami Darwaza.

About Firoz MinarFiroz Minar
The Firoz Minar is located at a distance of just one kilometer from the Dakhil Darwaza. This monument was built by Sultan Saifuddin Feroze in the year 1485. Is was complited in the year 1489. This monument is similar with Qutb Minar on seeing. The height of Firoz Minar is 26 meters and the circumference is 19 meters. There are 84 steps are present to reach the upper level of the tower. This Minar is also known as the Pir-Asha-Minar or the other name is Chiragdani.

About Chika Mosque
Chika Mosque was built by Sultan Yusuf Shah in the year 1475. The name was Chika Mosque due to it was the shelter for large number of chikas or commonly known as bats. It is known as a Hindu monument. The architecture of the Mosque is similar to the architecture design of Hindu temples.

About Gumti Darwaza
Gumti Darwaja is located to the north east side of the Chika Mosque. It was built in the year 1512 by the Sultan Allauddin Hussein Shah. It was made of red bricks and terracotta. It is said that there is read gold was used in the decoration of the Gumti Darwaza. But the sad is Now it is closed for public.

About Adina of Malda


Gumti DarwazaAdina is Situated at a distance of just 15 km from the north of Malda town. As like Gour Adina is also full of Historical Monuments. They are: Adina Dear Park, Hamamghar, Turkey Bath Room, Pandab Dallan Minar, Atbart Dighi, Adina Mosque etc.

About Adina Mosque
Adina Mosque is built by thje Sultan Sikander Shah in the year 1369. It is one of the largest monument of India. The architecture design used in this monument is very developed and it is said that this architecture is copied from Hindu's architecture which they used in their temples. It is one of the best tourist place in West Bengal.

About Pandua of Malda


Pandua is Situated at a distance of just 18 kms from the north of Malda town. As like Gour Pandua is also full of Historical Monuments. They are: Kutubshahi Masjid, Eklakhi Mausoleum etc.

About Qutub Shahi MasjidQutub Shahi Masjid of Malda
Qutub Shahi Masjid is commonly known as Chhoto Sona Masjid which was built for the honour of the great saint Nur Qutb-ul-Alam. It is also a very good tuorist spot of West Bengal.

About Eklakhi Mausoleum
The Eklakhi Mausoleum is one of the most elegant and beautiful monument in Pandua. It is made of by square size bricks. There is also a statue of Lord Ganesh is situated on the doorway of the Eklakhi Mausoleum. It is also one of the best tourist place of West Bengal.

About Jagjibanpur of Malda


Jagjibanpur is Situated at a distance of just 30 kms from the south east on Habibpur. It is just recently Explored tourist place. So this place is unknown to some tourists. But gradually this place is gaining its name. So it is one of the best tourist place of West Bengal.
