Alipore Zoological Gardens
Currently the Alipore Zoo is the biggest zoo in India and I think that each and every Indians must have to visit with there children so that children get more practical information about the animals with a joy. Children also like to visit this type of places.
The Alipore Zoological Garden is one of the biggest tourist attraction in Kolkata. Most of the tourist come here must not forget to visit here. It is established in 1876 and covering more than 45 acres area and is one of the largest and oldest zoos in India. One can find large variety of animals likes tigers, lions, elephants, monkeys, rabbits, kangaroos, bears, zebras, camel, hippopotamus, giraffes and also some rare type of species of hibernating birds from all over the world. There were different cages for a number of type of snakes, crocodiles and birds. This cages are protected so that the reptiles can't hurt any people.
In winter season, when school children get there winter vacation, they like to visit here once in a year and this is the pick time for the zoo. The garden is full with a large number of tress of various species. You get fresh air and this area is plastic free zone too. If you carry any plastic bag then you have to kept it out side the zoo and it is your responsibility for that bag. The zoo keeper doesn't responsible for the lost of your luggage's. There is a lots of canteen where you get nice food in regular prices.
Currently the entry fee is Rs.20 and free for children less than 3 years.
