Malpua-Popular Bengali Sweet Dish


Malpua is a traditional and very popular sweet dish of Bengal. Almost in every sweet shop in Bengal you will found this tasty sweet. It is very easy to cook also and can be served hot after dinner as a sweet dish. Read this article to get the details how to prepare this item.

Ingredients required for preparing Malpua


Milkmaid-1/2 tin (200 gm. Instead of Milkmaid you can use MIlk also but then you have boil this milk to make it more thick as kheer).
Maida-1/4 cup
Suji-1/4 cup
Ghee as per requirement
Pistas, Raisins for garnishing
For Preparation of Sugar Syrup
Sugar-2 cup
Water-3 cup

Method of Preparation of Malpua


Mix the Sugar and Water in a pan.
Bring it to boil until a consistency is obtained.
Keep this sugar syrup aside for using later.
Now take a bowl and mix the maida, suji and milkmaid well to form a smooth batter.
Now in a frying pan, heat ghee.
Now pour the batter into the oil to form medium circles.
You can place 2-3 batter circles one at a time but cook them very slowly on medium flame till golden brown.
Now remove from the oil and put directly into the sugar syrup.
Remove after 5 mins and serve it hot as a sweet dish.
You can garnish them with pistas and few raisins before serving them.
If you wish you don't prepare this Syrup. Just fry those Malpuas and garnish them with pistas and raisins and serve it hot.
