Sorshe Pabda - A delicious Fish recipe


Sorshe Pabda preparation is a traditional fish recipe of Bengal. This delicious Bengali recipe is very easy to cook and the taste is totally different from other fish preparation because of the flavor of mustard. It is generally served with hot rice or pulao. Ingredients required for preparing Sorshe Pabda


6 pieces medium sized Pabda Fish pieces
2 tablespoon Sorshe paste (Mustard paste)
2 Green Chillies
½ tablespoon Cumin Seeds (Kalo jeera)
2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
½ tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
Cooking Oil as needed (can use mustard oil)
Salt as per taste
For Garnishing
1 tablespoon Coriander leaf

Procedure for preparing Sorshe Pabda


Heat oil in a frying pan.
Then fry the pabda fish pieces lightly in the oil in medium flame.
After they turn little brown remove the fishes from the frying pan and keep them aside.
In the same oil add the cumin seeds and those green chillies and fry in a low heat for few seconds.
Now add the ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder to it and fry for few seconds.
Now add the red chilli powder to it.
Now add the sorshe paste (mustard paste) to it.
Now add 1 cup water to it and stir for few seconds.
After 1 min or so add the fried pabda fish pieces to it and cook for another 6-7 mins.
All the cooking must be done in medium flame.
When done sprinkle chopped coriander leaf.
Serve hot with rice, pulao or chapattis.

You can replace Pabda fish with many other fishes like Rohu, Katla, Illish, or Pomfret
