Time saving easy Indian Microwave recipe - Aval Upma

Many without knowing what to do after purchasing the Microwave oven just use it for pre-heating. It remains as a show piece in many of the kitchens. To tell the truth even mine is one among that. I would like to share an easy recipe with you all which save time.

Ingredients:-
1. Onion – 1 no's

2. green chilly + red chilly – 3 each

3. channa dal and urad dal – each 1 teaspoon

4. mustard seeds- ½ teaspoon

5. lemon juice – 1 or 2 teaspoon

6. oil to your requirement

7. curry leaves

8. chopped coriander leaves-1 handful

9. rice flakes or Aval- 1 big cup

10. turmeric- a pinch

11. salt to your taste

Method: A glass Microwave dish would be preferable for this.

1. Microwave oil in a glass dish, add mustard seeds, channa dal and urad dal, curry leaves, red and green chilly and onion and stir well in between till done. Say 4 minutes.

2. Remove and add a pinch of turmeric and salt and cook for 1 minute.

3. Stop here and squeeze the lemon and mix well.

4. Now you wash the rice flakes in a big glass dish and do not drain all the water and mix the above fried item and coriander leaves with the rice flakes and taste. Add if anything needed.

5. Now microwave the mixed rice flakes for 7 to 8 minutes. Stir in between and serve hot when it is done by garnishing with coriander leaves.

It just took 12 to 15 minutes for me to prepare this recipe.
