Recipe of Chinese Idli

You all must have eaten the traditional idli sambhar. Here is the recipe of idli but in chinese style. I tried making it and liked it. Hope you all also try it. Good for health as it includes lot of vegetables and is also low in calories.

• 1 portion Suji/Semolina
• 1 portion curd
• ½ portion water
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 cup onion thickly sliced
• ½ cup capsicum cut into cubes
• ½ cup red bell pepper cut into cubes
• ½ cup yellow bell pepper cut into cubes
• 8-10 baby corns cut into halves
• Black pepper to taste
• Tomato ketchup 1 table spoon
• Soya sauce 2 tea spoons
• Pinch of Oregano

Preparation for Idli:

Mix suji/semolina, curd, water, and baking powder. Beat the mixture well until it becomes little fluffy. Keep it aside for half an hour. Place the mixture in idli moulds and microwave it for 5-6 minutes.

Preparation of Chinese Sauce:
Take a non stick pan or a kadai. Add tomato ketchup and soya sauce to it. Add 1 tb spoon of oil and saute onions, capsicum, bel peppers, and baby corns. Add salt, black pepper, and oregano to it. Cut idlis in halves and add it to the sauce. Mix it well.

Serving and Garnishing:
Put the idlis in a serving plate. Garnish it with coriander leaves and spring onions. Serve hot.
