Haryana State

Haryana is located between 27¤ 29' to 30¤ 55' latitude and 74¤ 28' to 77¤ 36' longitude. Haryana is surrounded by U.P. and Yamuna river (East), Punjab (North-West), Himachal Pradesh (North-East), Rajasthan (West and South), Delhi (South-East). The average height of ground varies from 700 ft to 900 ft from sea level.

This state is well known as the motherland of Vedic civilization of India. The most famous fact about the state is that it is the land where Lord Krishna taught the religious lecture known as 'Gita Updesh' to Arjun in Kurukshetra. Instead of religious values, Haryana is also famous for its cultural activities like folk dances (Raas Leela, Phag dance, Dhamal, Ghumer, Holi dance, Teej dance etc.), its festival (like Teej, Holi, Diwali) and its tourist places like Pinjore Garden.

Haryana is one of the most important states of India whose border is not touched with any sea or any country. Haryana was formed on November 01st, 1966 and Chandigarh is the capital of Haryana and Punjab both. Haryana is well connected by other parts of India via Air, Rail and Road.

Chandigarh airport is the most important airport of Haryana. Districts like Gurgaon and Faridabad are very near to Indira Gandhi National Airport Delhi. Roads of Haryana are really excellent and Railway facility is also well developed. Thus it is easy to reach Haryana.
