So much quantity of ghee was poured in to the big tub. So many people depart for Girivalam in Tiruvannamalai in this ThiruKarthigai day. Some body will climb the Tiruvannamalai Hill also to see the Deepam in Tiruvannamalai.

Girivalam at Tiruvannamalai


For the most part of the sacred places the divinity is originated at the top of the hill. But here the divine hill itself is the divinity (Arunachaleshwarar) and is devoted. The consecrated hill is 2668 feet high. This Tiruvannamalai Hill was Agni during Kirthayugam, Manikkam in Threthayugam, Gold during Dwaparayugam and rock during Kaliyugam. It is very difficult to find place in buses. So many people and devotees are going to Girivalam in full moon day from Chennai. Any one can go Tiruvannamalai with 4hours from Chennai and get down at Tiruvannamalai bus stand. They can take autos to reach Arunachaleshwarar temple and local buses are also available at only specific times.
