When, as soon as you enter the place, first keep the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface of the mirror and suppose you find a gap GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then you are safe as it is a GENUINE mirror.

However, but if there is NO Gap, and your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail on the reflective glass, then BEWARE, IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! There might be someone seeing as you may not know or see but they will be seeing you from the other side. So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." to ensure your safety. This is a really good thing to do.
The reason for the gap in the real mirror, is because of the silver which is coated on the back side of the mirror under the glass whereas with a two-way mirror, the silver is on the surface and not on the back side. Keep it in mind! Make sure and check every time you enter in hotel rooms.
