There are cosmetic products one for each facial feature. Wants to make your eye look attractive? Choose anything from kajal to mascara and from eyeliner to eye shadow. Wants to make lips look plump and noticeable? Make it look bigger by using a lip liner. A lip gloss will make it look plump. Want to conceal pimples and scars? Make use of foundation creams and powders. Wants skin to look a shade lighter? Make use of bleaches and instant whitening cream. However, we often forget that all these products are not natural. They help us beautify but all that comes at a cost. Chemicals in them will have the same effect on our skin health as drugs have on our bodies. No drug comes without a side effect. Likewise, when we repeatedly and frequently use cosmetics over a long period, it deteriorates skin health. This article explains various simple ways to naturally look beautiful without using makeup.

Follow a skincare routine

We spend so much on cosmetics so that our skin looks bright and beautiful. Instead of that, if we spend some time daily following a skincare regime, our skin will thank us for all the effort we make. Skin needs to be cleaned daily. It is followed by toning and later comes moisturizing. Do it once after waking up and once before going to bed. There are plenty of skin cleansing agents, toners and moisturizers available for every skin type in the market. Why spend any money on artificial products? Use natural products available in the home. Milk, curd, oatmeal, aloe vera, and chickpea flour are all cleansing agents. The purpose of cleansers is to get rid of dirt from the skin's pores. Wash the face with lukewarm water. Apply rose water that will act as a toner. Then moisturize the skin to keep it hydrated. Coconut oil, olive oil, honey, and shea butter are perfect moisturizers.

Twice a week exfoliate the skin to get rid of dead skin cells. When dead skin cells are removed, new skin cells are exposed to the surface giving skin a fresh and healthy look. Exfoliation or scrubbing makes skin smooth and shiny. Follow this step after steaming the face for a few minutes. Steaming will open up the pores and eases up the exfoliation process. Use sugar scrub, and sea salt mixed with honey, baking soda, and ground almonds to exfoliate the skin. Make some paste of papaya or apple and mix it with honey. Or else Fuller's earth is also extremely beneficial for the skin and can be applied as a face mask. The purpose of a face mask after steaming and exfoliation is to nourish the open pores with nutrients. When we follow this regime we will make sure that our skin needs are taken care of. When on daily basis skin pores are free from pollutants and dirt, they can breathe freely. Following this regime will make the skin look healthy and fresh without any makeup.

Promote health from the inside out

What we eat gets reflected on our skin. No matter how much effort we put in to make our skin look beautiful, we will fail miserably if we are not eating a healthy diet. Our overall health reflects on our skin health. Too many fatty foods and processed unhealthy foods clog our skin pores. As a result, acne and blackheads develop. Water-rich fruits and vegetables keep skin supple and healthy. Fibre-rich fruits and vegetables help to get rid of waste from the body. When the body is freed from toxic waste, it reflects on the skin's health. Some are blessed with a natural glow that remains throughout the day; it is because of good eating habits. Eating a balanced healthy diet is necessary for the skin to glow without any makeup.

Hydrate well

Some look younger than their age and that is because their skin is well-hydrated. Fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes make a person look older. There are plenty of age-reversal creams and serums available in the market that can create a hole in the pocket. They have very little effect on ageing. The key is to drink enough amount of water at regular intervals so that the toxins get flushed out of the body easily. It improves skin elasticity and helps it look younger and more beautiful. A pinkish and supple youthful look can be promoted by adequately hydrating the body. Also, make sure to use smoothies, and fruit and vegetable juices to give that extra boost to hydration.

Exercise regularly

When we exercise, we sweat. Through the skin pores, lots of toxins are released along with sweat. Exercising improves oxygen and blood flow to various parts of the body including the skin. It means after an exercise session, the skin will be able to get all the essential nutrients and oxygen in adequate amounts. The better the nutrient supply, the better will be the health of the skin. Massage improves blood circulation. The better the circulation, the improved will be blood flow carrying essential nutrients to the skin. This will keep skin radiant and a pinkish glow will appear from within. Also, by applying adequate pressure, fine lines and wrinkles diminish. The oils that are used for massage reach deep into the skin pores and help repair skin from within. Massage your face daily while following the skincare regime. While cleansing, toning and moisturizing itself try to apply the agents on the face and rub them on the skin making small circular movements. Rubbing into the skin vigorously can only cause rashness and do more harm than good. Instead, apply them gently applying little pressure with your fingers. Once a week deep massages can be done using oils. Massaging the face for 10-15 minutes can be beneficial to get an even skin tone.

Stress management

Eating right, hydrating, sleeping well and following a skincare regime will not work their magic if too much stress gets created on daily basis. It is because the effect of stress easily can be seen on the skin. Skin looks dull and aged when there is too much stress. Ageing accelerates with the formation of more fine lines and wrinkles. On the other hand, when we follow all the above-mentioned measures, we open up the pores and cleanse them from deep within. These measures improve blood circulation and offer a youthful look. Thus, it is better to follow measures that make us naturally beautiful. In such cases, beauty gets reflected from within. For this, adequate nutrition, proper hydration and 8 hours of sleep time work wonders. Along with that, try to manage stress using meditation and other calming techniques. Follow a skincare regime of proper cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing regularly. Along with that, make sure to massage the skin as and when necessary depending on the season and necessity of the skin. When we take all these measures, skin looks young and radiant. We don't have to beautify it using cosmetics from the outside.

Taking care of one's body is necessary in all respect. Cosmetic care is one part of that. Using cosmetics left and right is not advisable because there are many harmful chemicals and other ingredients in the commercial beauty products which can be adverse for maintaining our look. Moderate use of cosmetics is the right approach and many experts opine like that.
As far as possible resorting to natural methods and observing discipline in food intake and personal habits is to be adhered sincere and regularly.
Exercising and remaining stress free are the two pillars of keeping a good health and then only the efforts to look beautiful would give any result.
Weight control and intermittent fasting are also said to be some effective ways of keeping oneself fit and beautiful.
